Q. Why are the DOCS painted black?

A. The black paint attracts the heat and helps the sump to evaporate water faster.

Q. Why are the DOCS a drive on system instead of a drive in system?

A. The drive on system keeps your equipment above the contaminants where as the drive in system allows the equipment to be in the contaminated area and when driving out you take the contaminants with you.  For further information or a comparison call FPI at 1-800-552-8783.

Q. What kind of filter “medium” do you use and what are the specs?

A. DOCS-LOC™ a lock and seal absorbent material.

Q. Can the DOCS be a point source control?

A. Yes

Q. How often do you need to change the DOCS filters?

A. Minimum every six months or as needed when filter saturates with contaminants.

Q. Since the DOCS interconnect ¾” above the sump floor, what do you do with the water that is still left in the sump area?

A. Let liquid evaporate.  If contaminated use an absorbent, then properly dispose of the contaminated absorbent.

Q. When there is stagnant water in the DOCS how do you render the DOCS bug free?

A. Talk to your natural resource person and ask for an acceptable pesticide to use in stagnated areas of DOCS.

Q. How many personnel does it take to offload and assemble the DOCS?

A. For any size system use minimum 3 personnel plus a crane operator.

Q. What equipment is necessary to assemble the DOCS?

A. One 5-ton crane or larger for offloading and to assemble the DOCS, one forklift to offload pallet of ramps, fittings etc.  Remember to have slings or chains with hooks on both ends.

Q. What is the Sump Capacity of the DOCS?

A. Check Specifications on website, flyer or call FPI

1-800-552-8783.

Q. What tools are needed to assemble the DOCS?

A. Crescent Wrenches, Gloves and pry bar to help position DOCS sections or call FPI 1-800-552-8783.

Q. How much does each section weight?

A. Each DOCS-1008 Approximately 2300 Lbs.

    Each DOCS-2008 Approximately 4400 Lbs.

Each Grate Section Approximately 205 Lbs.

    Each Ramp Approximately 280 Lbs.

Q. What is the largest platform you can build for secondary containment?

A. Unlimited configurations, depending on the site.

Q. Do the DOCS need to be on a cement slab or completely smooth surface?

A. No, though level surface placement is recommended. Concrete, Asphalt, compacted ground, sand, rock, gravel or any rough surface is just fine.

Q. Can you use a forklift to off-load the systems?

A. No! Crane Only with 4 slings or chains (both with hooks on each end) to make installation easier.

Q. What do you do when there is a heavy rain?

A. If sump is not contaminated open your drain or drain valve.  If contaminated keep drain closed and call for waste disposal company (vacuum truck).

Q. What other options can you get for the DOCS?

A. Valves, Hand Rails (Removable), Chains and Posts (Removable), Canopies, Curtains for Canopy, Grounding Rods, Additional Filters, Additional Ramps, Increased Sump Capacity, Increased Load Capacity, Sump Liners.  See options on website or call FPI 1-800-552-8783

Q. How do you ground the equipment to the DOCS?

A. Connect to one of the grounding lugs located on outside sidewall at all four corners or existing ground.

Q. What is the floor load capacity?

A. Approximately 8,800 Lbs. PSF.
